Patience Guisset & Valentin Marinelli commissioned Red House Acoustics to transform a commercial space and its basement into two distinct workspaces: one for a retail business selling cosmetics, and the other for a music production studio.
The challenges involved optimizing the layout of the space starting from a completely empty room, while ensuring proper sound insulation and acoustic treatment to allow the two activities to coexist without compromising their individual development, as well as incorporating an elevator to facilitate the smoothest possible connection between the two levels, minimizing space loss as much as possible.
To preserve the structure of the basement cellar, the studio’s design was conceived to follow the room’s vaulted shape through the creation of wooden arches that incorporate both lighting fixtures and acoustic treatment modules.
The cabinet, designed by Red House Acoustics and crafted by CreVaDan Design, complements the studio’s design. It consists of a set of modules tailored to the audio/video equipment, including a pull-out tray that houses a MIDI keyboard beneath the three sections of the AVID S1.
The design of the Panacées boutique, located on the ground floor, was conceived to evoke the atmosphere of 18th-century apothecaries.
Drawing a parallel between cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, we designed an elegant cabinet at the center of the store, seamlessly integrated into the space, featuring storage compartments emblematic of those historic shops.
Finally, the blue trim that outlines the custom-made furniture also serves as a nod to the color that defines the brand’s identity.
